Payment on Delivery (POD) is a service designed for business owners who want to deliver their products and receive payment upon delivery. This policy outlines the terms, conditions, and commission structure for using POD services on the Kilo platform.
By enabling POD for a delivery, senders agree to the terms outlined in this policy. Receivers must complete POD payment before the delivery OTP code is sent via SMS.
Competitive Pricing: To remain competitive and support small businesses, Kilo applies commission only on POD amounts above ₦5,000.
Important: Commission rates and thresholds may be updated. Senders will be notified of any changes before they take effect.
Receiver Payment: Receivers must complete POD payment through our secure payment gateway (Paystack) before the delivery OTP code is sent. Payment can be made via the tracking link shared by the sender.
Payment Timing: POD payment can only be made after the package has been picked up by the rider. Receivers will see the payment button on the tracking page once the delivery status reaches "Picked Up".
OTP Delivery: Once payment is confirmed, the delivery OTP code is automatically sent via SMS to the receiver's phone number. The receiver must provide this code to the rider to complete delivery verification. Senders are responsible for ensuring the receiver's phone number is accurate and active.
Automatic Funding: Once POD payment is confirmed, the sender's wallet is automatically credited with the full POD amount. A separate transaction record is then created to deduct the applicable commission fee. This ensures transparency - senders see the full payment received, followed by the commission deduction.
Processing Time: Wallet funding typically occurs immediately after delivery completion. In rare cases, processing may take up to 24 hours.
Withdrawal: Senders can withdraw POD earnings from their wallet after delivery completion, subject to our standard withdrawal terms and verification requirements.
Dispute Resolution: Disputes regarding delivery completion are between the rider and sender, and involve delivery fees only. POD payments represent a business transaction between the sender and receiver, and are separate from delivery disputes. Receivers are not our customers, and we do not process refunds to receivers. Any POD-related disputes or refunds must be resolved directly between the sender and receiver.
Failed Deliveries: If delivery fails due to rider error or platform issues, the delivery fee dispute is handled between the rider and sender. POD payments are independent business transactions and are not affected by delivery disputes.
Kilo is not liable for payment processing delays, payment gateway failures, or issues arising from incorrect POD amounts set by senders. We are not responsible for disputes between senders and receivers regarding package value or POD amounts.
Commission fees are final once delivery is completed. Senders acknowledge that commission is calculated and deducted according to the structure outlined in this policy.
Kilo reserves the right to update this POD policy at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes via email or in-app notifications. Continued use of POD services after policy updates constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
Commission rates and thresholds may be adjusted to remain competitive. Any changes will be communicated to users in advance.
