Step-by-Step Delivery
Watch how KILO ensures every delivery is secure, verified, and transparent from start to finish.
Welcome to KILO
Hi, welcome to KILO. Let me walk you through how the delivery process works — step by step.
Visual Guides
To make this easy to follow, watch the label at the top — it shows whether you’re seeing the sender side or the rider side.
Price Negotiation
Before a delivery is matched, riders and senders can negotiate the delivery price. Riders send offers or counter-offers, and the sender reviews each one.
Matching Delivery
The sender makes the final decision — and once they accept an offer, the delivery is matched.
Official Start
Once a rider is matched, the sender confirms by tapping ‘Accept’. This is where the delivery officially begins.
Delivery Session
As soon as the match is confirmed, KILO creates a dedicated delivery session between both users. This includes a private chat, shared delivery status, and continuous tracking.
Identity Verification
Before a rider can proceed, they must complete identity verification. This includes three steps — NIN verification, vehicle information, and driver’s license verification.
Secure Data Strategy
NIN details are securely transmitted to a NIMC-verified partner for validation and are never stored — not even in encrypted form. All sensitive data is cleared immediately after verification.
Vehicle Details
Riders also provide their vehicle details and select their vehicle type. Driver’s license verification is required for motorized vehicles.
Secure Workflow
This ensures that every rider on the platform is verified and accountable. Everything from this point is connected to ensure a secure delivery workflow.
Step-by-Step Confirmation
From here, the rider moves through each step of the delivery. Every action must be confirmed before moving forward — ensuring the rider is actually at the correct stage.
Process Reliability
This reduces mistakes and keeps the process reliable. Every action is recorded and verifiable.
Real-time Tracking
As the rider heads to the pickup location, their movement is tracked in real time. This animation represents the rider moving toward the sender.
Arrival & Payment
Once the rider reaches the sender’s location, they confirm arrival before proceeding. Before pickup, the sender completes the delivery payment.
Trust Escrow
This amount is securely held and only released after the delivery is completed. This prevents payment issues and protects both sides.
Pickup OTP
Once payment is done, a pickup OTP is generated. Before confirming the handover, the rider first captures images of the package.
Package Handover
These images record the condition of the package at pickup. The sender then shares the OTP with the rider.
In-Transit
The rider uses this OTP to confirm the package handover. Only after this step does the delivery continue.
Active Communication
Throughout the delivery, both users can communicate through chat. All updates and states are recorded directly in the conversation.
Drop-off Location
The rider then proceeds to the drop-off location, with progress continuously tracked. At drop-off, another verification step ensures the package reaches the correct recipient.
Payment on Delivery (POD)
If the package has Payment on Delivery enabled, the receiver completes the payment before the delivery is finalized.
Business Deliveries
This is especially useful in cases like business deliveries — for example, when a seller sends an item to a customer and expects payment on delivery.
Web Tracking & OTP
In this case, the receiver can open the tracking link, complete the payment on the web, and receive an OTP via SMS. That OTP is then shared with the rider to confirm the delivery.
Payment Flexibility
If the payment has already been settled outside the platform, the sender can disable Payment on Delivery. This allows the rider to proceed with the delivery without waiting for payment.
Real-world Adaptation
This flexibility ensures the delivery flow adapts to different real-world scenarios while still maintaining verification at drop-off.
Conclusion & Ratings
Once completed, both sender and rider can rate each other. This helps maintain a reliable and responsible platform. That’s how delivery works in KILO — simple, secure, and fully tracked from start to finish.
